Holidays are something few families can do without. They are also one of the few occasions where people totally agree on the idea ( getting away from normal life for as long as possible! ) but vary massively on exactly what they think makes up a holiday. For some, it’s five star luxury in Dubai, for others, two weeks in Ibiza. Some people prefer their holidays to show them parts of the world they would not otherwise see while others simply want to get tanned on a beach. Whatever your preference, you can find holidays online that suit you and your family perfectly, thanks partly to the sheer amount of offers available today.

A recent poll has suggested that over a fifth of people are looking to have cheaper holidays this year, so one thing that’s clearly important to many people during the recession is their budget and how far they can get on less money. To get the best value holidays, you need to think about more than just the cost of the flight and where to stay – you should think about what you can get once you’re at your destination. If you’re turned off the idea of an all inclusive holiday or you’re setting out to do something slightly more adventurous than being tied down to a resort for your holidays, a good way to save cash is to visit countries where the exchange rate will leave you with more cash.

This means you’ll have to travel outside Europe to get the best deals, but it doesn’t always mean travelling to the Americas. Countries like Morocco and Thailand are growing in popularity and make suitably exotic locations for a holiday. Flights can be found for cheap and accommodation – especially outside the summer months – is normally in the budget prices as well. Even better, holiday activities, eating out and shopping are all reduced in price thanks to the overall low prices in the country.
